Jaxx Alutalica utilizes a conscious synthesis of the following theoretical approaches in their clinical work:

- Emotionally Focused Therapy.

- A myriad of empirically supported Sex Therapy approaches.
Jaxx Alutalica is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. The focus of their work is to facilitate a multidimensional understanding of oneself to increase an individual’s capacity for well-being and build resources for self-healing and sustainable growth.
Jaxx is passionate about working with people who don’t fit the mold. They specialize in working with BDSM/kink, polyamory and non-monogamy, gender identity exploration and gender transition, folx engaged presently or formerly in sex work, those healing from sexual trauma, and navigating issues of sex and sexuality with oneself and others.
Areas of Focus
Jaxx Alutalica is a Doctoral trained Clinical Sexologist. They are currently completing their Ph.D. in Human Sexuality. Jaxx is a kink-aware therapist with NCSF, a listed poly-friendly professional, and a sex worker knowledgeable resource. Jaxx works through a trauma-informed lens that incorporates the experience of the body as well as the mind and spirit in order to facilitate healing of the whole self. They specialize in working with individuals and relationships working on issues surrounding Gender, Sexuality, and Sex therapy. Therapy with Jaxx is informed by a social and sexual justice perspective, incorporating somatic and holistic approaches to create a safe space for you to explore the impact of privilege, colonization, sexism, homophobia, fatphobia, transphobia, racism, and other “isms” which impact our experience. For Jaxx, being a therapist is about connecting with people in ways that are vulnerable, honest, and genuine. Jaxx's approach is body-focused, experiential, and research-informed. They utilize an intersectional approach to their work, which considers that our identities affect the way we show up in our personal lives and in relationships. By continually considering topics of gender, sexuality, race, class, faith, disability, and other intersectional identities, Jaxx's clients are able to bring their whole selves into therapy without fear of judgment or restriction.
Jaxx Alutalica holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and a Masters of Arts in Clinical Counseling: Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Northern Colorado. They are currently completing their Ph.D. in Human Sexuality from the California Institute for Integral Studies. They are an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and have specialized training in issues concerning sex and sexuality in a therapeutic setting. Jaxx utilized a trauma-informed approach and has conducted additional training in the trauma approaches of EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and the Neurobiology of Attachment. In addition, Jaxx has received specialized training in working with couples, relationships, and non-monogamous relationship systems. Jaxx's specializations include working with BDSM/kink, polyamory and non-monogamy, gender identity and transition, sex and sexuality, sex work, and navigating constructing healthy interpersonal relationships. Jaxx Alutalica regularly engages in ongoing training and peer consultation to ensure its therapeutic approach is current, research-informed, and culturally humble.
